Marmontova is one of the main tourist shopping areas of Split. The wide, pedestrianised route leads up from the harbour, and is often full of people.

Marmontova runs up the eastern side of Prokurative (Trg republike), a short distance west of Diocletian's Palace in Split. The road is very popular with tourists, lined with shops and close to many hotels and holiday apartments, including Marmontova Luxury Rooms.

Marmontova runs north from Trg Dr. Franje Tudmana, on which stands the chruch of Sv. France, and the harbour promenade to Trg Gaje Bulata on which stands the Croatian National Theatre (HNK) and Gospe od Zdravja church.

Near the southern end is a popular fish market while near the northern end is a large shopping mall containing many modern chain stores, as shown in this virtual tour.

Flight: Split International Airport found 20km west of Split, transfer by either taxi or bus.
Ferry: Regular ferries from Dubrovnik, Korcula, Mljet, Pescara, Rijeka, Vis, Hvar, Spetare (Brač), Stari Grad, Drvenik and Ancona in Italy.
Road: Split lies on the 8 coastal road, about 30km north of Omiš and 60km north of Makarska. It is 150km south of Zadar.
