The Gallery of Fine Arts (Galerija umjetnina) in Split contains over 3,500 works from local artists spanning time from 14th century up to the present day. The museum and gallery was founded in 1931 and contains both permanent and changing exhibitions. Prominent Croatian artists featured in the collection include Emanuel Vidović, Vlaho Bukovac, Mato Celestin Medović, Ivan Meštrović, Branislav Dešković, and Ignjat Job. The museum also contains an extensive collection of religious icons.
The gallery is one of the top tourist attractions in Split, and entrance fees apply.

TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
Flight: Split International Airport found 20km west of Split, transfer by either taxi or bus.
Ferry: Regular ferries from Dubrovnik, Korcula, Mljet, Pescara, Rijeka, Vis, Hvar, Spetare (Brac), Stari Grad, Drvenik and Ancona in Italy.
Road: Split lies on the 8 coastal road, about 30km north of Omiš and 60km north of Makarska. It is 150km south of Zadar.
