Birdwood is a beautiful small town with a population of about 1,100 in the scenic Adelaide Hills, 44 kilometres from Adelaide. The town was founded by German immigrants fleeing persecution of Lutherans in 1840. Originally named Blumberg, the town was renamed to Birdwood during WW1.
Other historic buildings like the Lutheran Church and the Blumberg Inn from 1865 add to the appeal of the town. The National Motor Museum with a vast collection of cars is located in the centre of Birdwood in the historic Blumberg Flour Mill building.

ADDRESS

The Birdwood Tourist Information is in Shannon Street directly opposite the National Motor Museum.
