Bay of Martyrs Beach - Great Ocean Road visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Bay of Martyrs Beach' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Victoria.
Bay of Martyrs is a large, curved bay just west of Peterborough at the eastern end of Bay of Islands Coastal Park on the Great Ocean Road in Australia. Backed by tall cliffs, with a large sea-stack off shore, it is a fantastic place to relax. At the eastern end of the bay is Halladale Point, named after the Falls of Halladale which ran aground here in sea mist en route from New York to Melbourne in 1908. It is rumoured that a group of Europeans were thrown off cliffs and killed by Kirrae-Wurrong Aborigines here, giving rise to another name, Massacre Bay.
