Hastings on the South Coast in East Sussex has a shingble beach. Famous for the Battle of Hastings and the Norman Landing, today Hastings is a popular tourist destination. The beach is backed by a promenade with a cycleway, behind which are various flats, restaurants, bars and beachfront hotels. Jutting out into the sea are the remains of Hastings Pier which has sadly suffered from a recent fire.
Many of the most popular tourist attractions in Hastings also lie along the shore front, including the Hastings Fishermen's Museum Hastings Adventure & Crazy Golf, Flamingo Park and Rock A Nore Fisheries.
