Saas-Grund is a village in the heart of the Valley of Saastal to 1560 m above sea level. It is an attractive village with plenty of wooden chalets, Romanesque church of the thirteenth century and the castle of the sixteenth century are well in percent of the village. The first hotel was built in 1856. Mountain Hohsaas to 3100 m can enjoy a fantastic view of the 18 peaks of 4000 m surrounding the whole area.
