Eas a' Bhradain Waterfall - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT

Eas a' Bhradain Waterfall is very pretty in the right conditions. Unfortunately, those conditions require recent rain, which also means that the area near to the waterfalls, and the approach to them, is going to be very wet and boggy underfoot.

Eas a' Bhradain Waterfall - FURTHER INFORMATION

Eas a' Bhradain Waterfall - Skye visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Eas a' Bhradain Waterfall' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Highland.

Panorama showing the Eas a' Bhradain Waterfall found near Moll, at the head of Loch Ainort on the Isle of Skye in Scotland.

In the right conditions the river which starts on the slopes of Marsco tumbles over this shallow drop forming a small waterfall. After very heavy rains the waterfall forms a wide white swathe over the rocks. Fortunatley for waterfalls, rain is very common on Skye, and the Eas a' Bhradain Waterfall can turn from a little trickle to a substantial flow over a 24 hour period with ease.

After flowing over the Eas a' Bhradain Waterfall, the river continues along relatively flat land to Loch Ainort just beyond the A87 road.

As the A87 heads north from Broadford towards Loch Sligachan and then on to Portree, it passes this waterfall at the end of Loch Airnort. The road then ascends a valley with Beinn Dearg Mhor and lay by under Glamaig, Sconser and Meall a' Mhaoil (also called "Moll") on the right. At the beginning of this ascent is a lay by overlooking Loch Ainort where you can stop. There is another lay by under Glamaig further up the road giving good views back down the valley.

TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE

Drive: Eas a' Bhradain Waterfall is approx 15 miles north of Kyleakin on the A87. The road passes through Broadford and Luib villages, and the waterfall is at the head of the loch with a large lay by car park opposite.
