December 2010 and London saw yet another snowfall bringing much of the city to a standstill and the inevitable obsession on the news about our inability to cope with the stuff. For those on foot, Regents Park was bliss. Few car noises and no plane drone. Just white winter scenes and a partially frozen canal.

St Marks Bridge crosses Regents Canal just to the east of London Zoo at the northern end of Regents Park. It is named after St Marks Church, visible on the northern side of the bridge. It is just a short walk from Camden Town and Camden Lock, either by road or along the Canal, linking Regents Park with Primrose Hill Bridge.

In the basin below, numerous canal boats lie moored. The Chinese looking one is a famous restaurant. The satellite view of the Google map of London shows how the canal continues west along the northern side of Regents Park and then out to Paddington. To the east lie Camden Town and then Angel.
