Cala Macarella

Cala Macarella in Menorca is fairly undeveloped. There are no hotel beach resorts, no clusters of villas and appartments, and, therefore, no hordes of tourists. The beach dose have sun beds and pedalos for hire, and there is a small bar, but much that is common to the larger beach resorts is thankfully absent.

Cala Macarella is surrounded by steep cliffs and partial woodland. The long sandy beach slopes gently into the sea.

Cala Macarella lies between Cala en Turqueta and Cala Santa Galdana. It is about 14km from Cuitadella de Menorca, past the small church at Sant Joan Gran, following the same route as to Cala en Turqueta, and then along tiny country lanes for the last few km passing through Macarella. The alternative is to walk about 40 minutes along the coast from Cala Santa Galdana.
