Schoeckl Mountain - Graz visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Schoeckl Mountain' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Styria.
Schöckel is a 1,445m high mountain some 22km due north of Graz. The mountain has a broad pleateau at the top, on which are a couple of mountain huts and restaurants. Various paths ascend the slopes, some easy and broad and others, like the Alpine walk, quite steep and moderately difficult. For those not wanting to walk, a cablecar runs from St. Radegund to the top.
Schoeckl is popular with both walkers and mountain bikers. At the top are a couple of launch pads for both paragliding and hang-gliding. With stunning views over the surrounding Styrian countryside, it is well worth visiting. In the summer, take the breathtaking 'Hexenexpress' summer toboggan run down again. Many people from Graz come here often for outdoor pursuits.
