Google Map Cala Santa Galdana - HeadlandCala Santa Galdana - HeadlandCala Galdana is a contender for the most beautiful bay on Menorca, if not the whole of the Balearic Islands in Spain. It is also known as Cala Santa Galdana, and has been referred to as Queen of the Coves with good reason. Situated on the south coast of Menorca, Cala Galdana is a beautiful horse shaped cove with gently sloping beaches of golden sand. The cove is surrouned by dramatic sandstone cliffs covered with pine trees. The beach is well protected and save making the area a popular family holiday destination.Cala Galdana has been well developed as a purpose built resort offering all the normal types of hotels and associated facilities like bars, restaurants and cafes. Most of the evening activities are hosted within the resort style hotels, but are open to non residents to join in. Just above where this image was taken on the cliffs of Cala Galdana is a restaurant overlooking the bay. In spite of the number of hotels Cala Galdana is not overdeveloped and provides a fantastic base for a holiday in Menorca with relatively easy access to other surrounding beaches like Cala Macarella, Cala Mitjana and Cala Trebaluger. For these reasons Cala Galdana remains one of the more popular holiday destinations in Menorca for those seeking a break in the sun. Cala Santa Galdana can be reached via the PM-714 road from Ferreries (a town about half way down the middle of Menorca) or from Ciutadella de Menorca via Sant Joan Gran along some tiny country lanes.
