Google Map Pier 7Photographer Description of Pier 7A panorama taken part way down Pier 7 in San Francisco. Pier 7 is close to the San Francisco financial district and the panorama shows a view back down the pier to the CBD skyline. The image was taken on a spring morning in 2008 when the sun was out. In actuality this pier stands between Pier 5 and the Pier 7 terminal. There is no Pier 6.Pier 7 - Further InformationPier Seven is on the Embarcadero south-east of Fisherman's Wharf and around ten blocks walk from the famous Pier 39 visitor attraction and entertainment center. There is a spectacular view of the Oakland Bay Bridge and Yerba Buena Island, of Sausalito on the far side of the bay and back towards the city skyline dominated by the Coit Tower on top of Telegraph Hill. This pier is used for fishing and for promenades out to the pier end to take in the outstanding views. The pier is 900ft long and rather elegantly edged with Victorian style lamplights and railings. The cable car runs along the waterfront past here from the Bay Bridge right up into Fisherman's Wharf, so exploring along this quieter, less touristy area is easy and a very peaceful alternative.
