Independence Square in Beltsy is a central square in the city. Historically important, it is also a busy meeting place. Independence Square is a short walk from Vasile Alecsandri Square and the nearby Central Bus Station.

Around this square are several shops and markets selling food and fine wines, art galleries and markets for daily essentials. On this square is a large mounted tank which stands as a monument to the movement for Independence.
