This image was taken late in the afternoon, after hiking down part of the South Kaibab Trail, and the sun was sinking low to the west. I do not think that Moran Point is the best view point along the South Rim of the park, and would recommend Yaki Point more.Moran Point - Further InformationMoran Point is one of the viewpoints on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon in Arizona. It lies between Grandview Point and Lipan Point on Desert View Drive. Moran Viewpiont has ample parking with a short walk to the viewpoint itself.The view of the Grand Canyon from Moran Point in this image is obscured by the nearby gully and Zuni Point. This virtual tour shows various formations on the far side of the Canyon. In the far distance at about 25° you can see Cape Final (2413m), Jupiter Temple (2158m) and Venus Temple (1907m). Cape Final is a point on the Walhalla Plateau of the Grand Canyon's North Rim. The other two formations are just east of this within the Grand Canyon itself.
