Langley Park - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
Langley Park is a short distance from Perth CBD. It is a large open park beside the Swan River. Behind it rises the tall buildings of Perth, mostly hotels and apartments demanding high prices for good views of the estuary. The panorama shows the success of the area by the number of cranes continuing to build here.

Panorama from the center of Langley Park in Perth. Caught between the restfulness of the Swan River and the busyness of the Central Business District, this small greenbelt park is formed from reclaimed land and is around 900m long and 100m wide. From the scale of construction taking place to extend the skyscrapers in the CBD, one can sense the demand for open space that caused this section of river to be reclaimed into parkland. One can also sense how vulnerable it is as demand rages urgently onwards.
Running alongside Riverside Drive, the major highway through this area on the northern shore of the Swan River, this park also serves as an unofficial airstrip for small fixed wing aircraft and occasional landing pad for quick (or emergency) access to the CBD.
